I have been using swagbucks for over a year now. Like most people that have no idea what’s going on or how to use it, I gave up on it right away. It seemed impossible to gather enough points and get any of their prizes. A couple of months after I signed up for swagbucks I read an blog about someone that was cashing in several gift cards using swagbucks. So I decided to give it another try. I opened a blog about it, and started using their search engine more often. Soon I had my first Gift Card. Since then swagbucks has evolved quite a bit. Now they offer many more ways to win. Their community has grown to over 100,000 members. Now I get enough points to get several gift cards every week. So let’s review how it works:
How it works:
At it’s core swagbucks is pretty simple.
1. Use their search engine (based on google and ask.com)
2. Get points for searching with them
3. Trade those points in for prizes
That was the basics of swagbucks a year ago. Now there are tons of ways for you to win more points. You can participate on contests, trivia, polls, pictures contests, videos and what not. You can also connect with other users on Facebook, Twitter, and on their blog.

The best way to win with Swagbucks is by getting your friends to join in. Because everytime someone signs up under your name you start winning everytime this person wins (up to 100 swagbucks). Here’s a screen shot of some of my friends. You can see that I have a total of 347 friends on this screen shot.

Swagbucks Tips:
1. Truth is the best policy.
I rather spend sometime, filled with excitement, explaning how awesome swagbucks is to my friends than do what a lot of people do… lie. There are tons of lies about swagbucks out there. Some people claim that their sign up links will give you extra-codes. Some people claim you will get a gift card in less than 24 hours. That just drives people to sign up and give up right away. Just getting people to sign up is not enough. You want to get them to use the website.
2. Get involved!
Stay tunned with everything that happens in the Swagbucks community. The swagbucks staff is always offering new ways to snag some extra points.
3. Don’t give up!
A lot of people will give up quickly because they expect swagbucks to be a source of extra income (due to many false ads). Use swagbucks naturally, as your primary search engine. That will help you start it out. I made swagbucks my default search engine, so it’s always handy every time I search.

I am very confused by your post. You win swagbucks by using their search engine. You should win at least one swagbuck everyday. You can’t add me as a friend. and I can’t add you. It doesn’t work that way. People can sign up under you and you will get points whenever they get points.
Yes it does, if you refer people and add them you get points when they get points and they get points when you do so the person who I signed up under told me

can you give an example of a swagcode on the blog.
i just need an example.
They used the blog to post swagcodes right in the beginning when swagcodes first appeared. Now, most of the time they only post tips to where the swagcode is.

I am trying to help raise funds for “toys for tots” again this year. I think swagbucks would be the perfect way to gain extra funds for my cause. I have $25 in amazon giftcards as of now, but would like to get more. So what I’m offering isn’t a scam or a hoax. I want people to help me earn more cards by signing up under my name. To encourage participation, I will give a $5 gift card (or any prize under $50 swagbucks) to the five people who earn the most under my name. I do not understand how it works with “getting” what you’ve acquired. I mean how do you get the gift cards? Do they get shipped to your place? Which means you actually have to sign up with a real name? What happens if I did not supply my real name?
The site seems nice, and people are vouching for it being really what it claims to be, but I guess I’m still a little skeptic to sign up.
It depends of the gift card. Amazon gift cards are mailed to you. Some other gift cards are shipped.
